As we know, it is important to keep the data safe on our computer. We use some softwares or applications to protect our important data. Since there is lot of virus and hackers online, our data is always at risk and we need to stay away from hackers. There is a software called TrueCrypt which encrypt and hide the data or information.
The TrueCrypt is encryption software which helps to create a virtual encrypt disk within a file and mount it as a virtual disk. That disk can can be accessed by a drive letter. The file which are stored on that virtual drive is automatically encrypted and the drive can be accessed with the correct password or key only.
If you hide the encrypted data using TrueCrypt, other will not even know that data is do exist. Since the data is encrypted, all the information will be secured. You can use it for USB drives and no one can open it without the correct password or key. Also, there is an option to use second master password, so that you can arrange or store the data in front of others.
To use TrueCrypt, follow the steps given below:
1. Once you have installed TrueCrypt, create volume for the drive.
2. Create an encrypted file container and select the standard TrueCrypt Volume.
3. Select a file where you want your container to be created.
4. Enter the password. When you have entered the password , TrueCrypt will generate the key for the data.
5. Click on 'Format' to finish the task.
