The two types of hair are: dry and oily. In general, an oily scalp tends to exist in combination with thin and fine hair. While the dry scalp generally goes with rough and thicker hair. To find out the type of hair you have, rub a soft paper napkin on the scalp after a shampoo. If the paper shows up an oily patch, your hair is definitely of the oily type where as a dry one would reflect the dryness of the scalp.
