Ujjayi Pranayam




Method: Close mouth. Inhale slowly through both the nostrils in a smooth uniform manner till the breath seems to fill the space between the throat and the heart. Retain the breath as long as you comfortably can and then exhale through the left nostril. Instead of exhaling through the left nostril you can exhale through both the nostrils also. This Pranayam can be practiced even while standing or walking. Repeat it 5-20 times.


Benefits: This Pranayam removes the heat in the head. Remove phlegm from the throat. Asthma, consumption, and all kinds of pulmonary diseases are cured. This Pranayam prevents nervous attacks, dyspepsia, dysentery, enlarged spleen consumption, cough or fever.
